Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). 2010 marks 10 years since 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $30 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 125 research projects nationally. The Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund Provides philanthropic assistance to the Herbert Irving Child & Adolescent Oncology Center, Columbia University Medical Center. The Fund's mission is to support and expand existing programs and therapies at the Center, develop new initiatives, and enhance the research that is vital to continuing the fight against pediatric cancer. Joe's House is a nonprofit organization providing a nation-wide online service that helps cancer patients and their families find lodging near treatment centers. Joe's House website lists thousands of places to stay near hospitals and cancer treatment centers that cater to patients. You focus on beating cancer, they find you a place to stay. Joe's House is named after Joe Warnecke who lost his battle with cancer in 1997. After Joe's death, Ann conceived the idea of a nonprofit organization that would specialize in accommodations for traveling cancer patients. Today, Ann is the president of Joe's House.
